Weather is slowly begining to settle..........

As the rain is now a distant memory fishing is starting to get back on track, the only plus point from the recent heavy rain is that we now have plenty of fresh and cooler water pumping in from the underground springs. Currently lures seem to be providing the best sport with jack frost fritzs and black cats whiskers working well around the 6 foot mark on intermediate lines, while small brown sedges and ribbed buzzers are still the trouts favorite on the floating lines. Fish of the week goes to Mr Chris Sykes from Huddersfield with a rainbow just falling short of 15lb, not bad to say it was his first cast of the day! Chris caught the fish from under the trees on the top lake on a olive damsel. Top rod goes to Mr Edward Price from Doncaster with 19 fish in 4 hours including a orange tagged fish winning him £75.00. Most of his fish were to a jack frost fritz fished from a intermediate line fished from the life buoy on the top lake. This weeks rod average has dropped to 6 fish but the fish average size is just short of 5lb per fish!! This is a new record at Pennine but I have a feeling we will beat it again within the next couple of weeks. Next week we will be introducing plenty of blue trout which seemed very popular due to there strong fighting attributes, you've been warned!!!!!
