Buzzers and naturals continue to rule the fishing............

After a full week of warm but overcast days the fly life is abundant, with plenty of insects skimming the surface and lots of buzzers emerging from the depths. Skinny black buzzers, sedges and daddies continue to fish well between the surface and 3 foot down. Floating fry's and black blobs have also fished well when stripped quick across the surface. Sinking lines have still produced on the brighter days with green and white fritz and olive dancers doing the best. Fish of the week goes to Mr Ian Slater with a trout just short of the 15lb mark, Ian from Macclesfield caught the fish on a black fuzzy buzzer from a floating line. Angler of the week goes to Mr Paul Davies, the Welsh angler netted over 30 fish in a session mainly to buzzers and cormorants. Fish averages are still holding firm at 4lb 5oz with a rod average at 7 fish per angler. This week will bring lots more doubles being stocked with a few mid double brownies, although as we are aware brownies in summer are not the easy to catch.
