Fish are beginning to drop deeper......

For the first time this year I'm telling you that the fish are dropping into the deeper cooler water which is amazing to say we are in the middle of June. There is still plenty of residents high up but these fish are becoming more and more harder to catch as they have been caught many times. So tactics.... well probably a intermediate line may be your best choice for the bigger fish and the more resent stock fish so try a black or a olive fritz or something similar that is dark in colour, usually when the conditions get brighter a darker pattern works better. On a floating line try a buzzer or one of the new beetles or snails we have in the cabin these flies have been deadly recently but are on a limited supply so be quick as they are selling fast. Fish of the week goes to Mr Mick Aniscough from Wigan with a nice fish caught on a alder nymph fished from a floating line, but the angler of the week must go to Mr Derek Horsefield with three gold tags in one day....great fishing!!!
