Another hot week......

No fishery manager can say fishing is easy under these conditions, it's been around 27 degrees for the last 2 weeks with very little cloud cover and almost no breeze. In saying that I have continued stocking on a daily basis to help you out the best I can, this is something that most other fisheries will fail to do at this time as little or no fish will be transported under these conditions. To give yourself the best chance you need to go down in the water column to around 8 foot within the cooler water, fly patterns are not critical as I think it's more the depth than the choice of fly. Best patterns have been the darker patterns such as black snakes, olive damsels and black bunnys. Fish of the week goes to Mr Micheal Jones of Runcorn with Pennines biggest blue trout of the season weighing in just over 12lb, Micheal caught the fish on a bunny leach fished on a sinking line from the lower lake. Other notable catches were Mr Dave Manning with another 20+ fish haul from the lower lake from in front of the cages and Mr Paul Robinson from Wigan with 18 fish to mini damsels fished from a intermediate line from the life buoy on the top lake, best at 16lb.
