Hopefully back to a bit of more settled weather......

After a couple of days of heavy rain and strong winds the weather seems to be back on track for a more settled end to October. The fishing although has still been good with lures starting to take over as the natural fly life dies back for another year. Best picks with the lures are white blue flash fritzs, golden olive dancers and most fishermans savoir the cats whisker, all these patterns are best fished on a intermediate line around the 5 foot mark. With the floating lines try buzzers and mini damsels, but probably best using them between 11.00am to 3pm as this is normally the warmest part of the day. A hot trip for any indicator fisherman is to try and fish near any of the cages with target eggs or white buzzers still fishing around the 5 foot mark, a proven wining tactic! Fish of the week goes to Mr Tommy Hogg from Liverpool with this seasons best blue trout from Pennine weighing in at 10lb 6oz, although not the biggest fish this week probably the best on merit. He caught the blue trout on a white goldhead. As from next season we are hoping to have a lot more blues of this size as they have proven a big hit with you fisherman. Angler of the week goes to Mr Dave Burke from Chadderton with 17 fish ( 5 blues) in 4 hours all caught on snakes fished quick from a floating line.
