Great surface action.....

The fish are continuing to feed very high in the water column with the windy corners of the lakes fishing the best due to the natural fly life congregating in those areas. Black foam beetles and snails when fished on a washing line method with a buzzer fished below has accounted for lots of fish as Mr Dave Manning found out with a great 31 fish catch from in front of the fisheries office. Other good tactics have been snakes pulled on a intermediate line at around the 5 foot mark and of coarse the old faithful the app's bloodworm. Fish of the week goes to Mr Carl Ogden from Radcliffe with a very bright silver rainbow....not the biggest fish out but I think the prettiest out this week. He caught the fish on a white fritz fished from a floating line. Other notable catches have been Mr John Holden from Barnsley with a 15lb 3oz rainbow caught on a bloodworm and Mr Paul Davis from Royton with 13lb rainbow caught on a white egg fly. Still waiting for the big lads to be caught, hopefully the warmer weather this week will encourage them to bite!
