Fish weights boosted by the stocking of doubles......

After last weeks stocking of doubles the average bag weight of a 3 fish limit has broke the milestone of 15lb for the first time this season. This is mainly due to more fisherman taking the 1 fish ticket option that started a couple of months ago, this ticket was meant to be a trial ticket but I think due to it's demand it will run on into the future. Regarding fishing tactics, yet again the weather is dictating the patterns with a lot of bright sunshine over the last few days the fish have been a bit deeper during the hottest parts of the day with intermediate lines working best to damsels, black fritzs and white hot spot dancers. When the cloud covers the sun then the fish will rise to cdc's, buzzers and hopper poppers, all these patterns are best fished with a ripple to mask your line. Fish of the week goes to Mr Mike Baker from Runcorn with a fish with probably one of the best tails you will see from a stillwater this year, Mike caught the fish on one of his pals ( Ken Jones) home tied flies a olive rabbit from the lower lake. Hopefully by late this week I will have a new lure pattern for you to challenge the snake fly, it's called a spun rabbit early trails of the fly look promising.
