Sorry for the delay in the fishing posts......

With my summer break, other staff holidays and the any method session on the lower lake, August was a very busy month for me so it's good now to be almost back to normal. Fishing has been pretty good to say that August can be very difficult and with comments from other fisherman regarding other local waters reporting little or no fish caught and in a few mentioning of their local water closing due to the hot July we had. Best tactics have been dries with cdc's daddies, knotted midge and sedges working the best. Intermediate lines still are finding fish with snakes flies (as always) working very well when fished around 4 to 6 foot, black or olive being the best colours. Fish of the week goes to Mr Frank Staniczenko with a monster of 17lb caught on a floating fry fished from a floating line from the life buoy. Other notable catches have been Mr Stephen Jackson from Hull with a small double brace of 21lb caught on app's bloodworms from the bay area, Lawson Bedford with a total of 90 fish plus on his 5 day fishing holiday all to buzzers and mini damsels.
