At last a break in the poor weather.......

After what seems an age we finally enjoyed a couple of days of decent weather. The last month although quite mild as been a struggle due to the strong winds and heavy rain, but as we can almost see March surely we should be within touching distance of a more predictable weather pattern. The fishing has been mixed due to the wind but in the last 3 or 4 days has picked up with great catches in the bay area and from in front of the cabin. The lower lake has also fished well with Platform 2 fishing well and the area around the first bench finding plenty of fish. Best tactics have been floating or intermediate lines with bloodworms and black blobs, with buzzers starting to work in the afternoons as the water warms up. Regarding lures try out the usual white rabbits and olive leaches generally around the 6 foot mark with the dam wall areas fishing better with this tactic. Fish of the week goes to Mr Justin Chean from Southport with a "late in the day" caught double, Justin caught the fish on almost his last cast on a black buzzer fished from a floating line. Hopefully now as the weather gets better I will be able to give a more up to date report.
