At last near perfect conditions..........

Warm, cloudy an nice breeze plus the abundant amount of fly life, flyfishing cannot get much better! Natural patterns once again dominate the catch returns with olive buzzers, cdc and sedges fishing well in the rippled areas. Aerators have also been switched on this week to provide a bit of moment to the water which the fish have really enjoyed, so platform 4 as been a real hotspot for buzzer and indicator fishing. Although most fish have been caught on floating lines the bigger fish have come to sinking lines with olive rabbit lures and yellow and white fritzs fished around the 6 foot mark. Fish of the week goes to St Helens angler Mr Luke Comisky with a personal best of 14lb 7oz caught on a yellow and white fritz. Angler of the week goes to Mr Lawson Bedford with 26 fish mainly to damsels and buzzers fished near the cages on the top lake (peg 1) Fish averages still hold out at 4lb 6oz with a average rod rate of 7 fish per session. Still waiting for the brownies to show that went in last week, probably not get caught until closed season as usual. This week as produced 6 tagged fish in which 3 have been blue tags (£50.00) so prize money works out at £205.00.
