Recent cold snap has not put the fish off......

The fish are slowly starting to feed much higher up in the water column as they get familiar with the colder temperatures we have experienced over the last week or so, so in saying that intermediates are still the key for constant success throughout the day or if you choose floating lines you may need sight indicators to give your fly a bit of controllable depth. As a general rule the fish are in the first 5 foot of water with a couple of spots near both cages were they maybe a bit higher up, look for the slack water near the cages thats sheltered form any breeze and you will probably see fish rising pretty much all day. For these fish egg flies have been very popular when fished around 3 to 5 foot, but do watch your line as they have been known to take the fly on the drop. Regarding fishing lures try the brighter patterns due to the water clarity so white fritz, cats whiskers and yellow nomads have all been popular. Fish of the week goes to Runcorn angler Mr Mike Baker with a good double caught in the bay on a white lure. Other notable catches have been a fish haul of over 80 fish to the Jubilee fishing team to egg flies, snakes and other mixed lures.
