The mild weather is greatly received........

It seems a long time since we had a mild spell but currently we seem to be enjoying a "bit" of mild and settled weather. Conditions at first thing can be a bit chilly but as the morning goes on temperatures have rose well, encouraging the fly life to reluctantly hatch. Tactics have been tied in with the weather, so early mornings have been more lure patterns such as the snake fly or dancers, anything with good movement that's slim. Later in the morning buzzers are worth a go in the corners were the breeze is pushing into, indicators have picked up fish to egg flies and lime green buzzers fished around 5 foot. Fish of the week goes to Mr Steve Perry from Barnsley with a 15lb 2oz personal best caught on a green buzzer fished from a floating line in the bay area on the top lake. Angler of the week goes to Mr Pete Morris from Halifax with 18 fish in 4 hours to green and white snake fly fished from a intermediate line, his best being a 12lb rainbow (returned). Please remember as from this Monday we are on the winter closing time of 5pm.
