Make the most of the mild weather.......

A decent week is forecasted so make the most of it, with milder air being blown up from the south we should begin to see the natural fly life return again...something we have not seen for a week or so. This years daddies have been a bit of a disappointment, maybe that's due to the lack of rain or the fact they have not hatched out yet so hopefully this week may encourage them to appear. Beetles and buzzers have been the best tactic on dry lines, more so if fished as a washing line. Also it's worth trying bloodworms and egg flies on strike indicators as the water is now cooling very quickly the trout's diet is being severely restricted. While on sinking lines it's been black fritz and cats whisker snakes fished around the 5 foot mark. Fish of the week goes to Bolton angler Mr Richard Cooke with a nice double caught on a muddler pulled across the surface. A further 9 doubles have been caught this week most of them have been returned best estimated at 18lb.
