Happy New Year!.........

The new year is has arrived, still a bit wet but at least with no snow and ice. Forcasters are predicting a much drier month for January and still keeping quite mild, although current conditions have proved very fruitfull for a lot of fishermen over the Christmas holidays it would be nice to leave the waterproofs in the car for a while. Resent proven tactics have been lime green buzzers, egg flies and red bloodworms on floating lines when fished near cages or in the top corner of the bay. Intermediate lines have worked best on the lower lake has this has been now restocked after the close season, with the best flies being cats whiskers, white and green fritz and olive snakes fished around the 5 foot mark. Fish of the week goes to local angler Mr Steve Devereux from Littleborough with his first Pennine double caught on a cats whisker from platform 2 on the lower lake. Angler of the week goes to 16 year old Daniel Grant from Oldham with a staggering 33 fish mainly caught on white fritzs and egg flies from platform1 on the lower lake.
