The weather continues to rule fishermans tactics...........

Finally as the north westerly wind dies back and as the crazy snow showers ease hopefully we can start again on the 'early spring fishing' that we had a few days ago. With the conditions quickly changing for the better for the Easter holidays lets hope the dry lines can come out again as the fly life will return as it did in previous weeks when the temperatures soared past the 20 C. You tactics should be in set in a very open minded state as the conditions have been very changable, set up two rods and keep moving around the waters if you are not having any luck in the present spot. Alter your retrieve, sometimes you can be doing everything right but you may not be giving your fly the right kind of action to trigger a bite. Fish of the week goes to Mr Mike Horton with a full finned 11lb 5oz rainbow caught on a cruncher fished from a floating line, Mike's son Alex also netted a 11lb rainbow to a yellow and white fritz. Best catch of the week goes to Mr Mike Baker from Runcorn with 24 fish mainly to rabbit lures fished from a floating line on the lower lake. Fish averages hold at the 4lb mark with a average of 8 fish per angler. Tagged fish competition paid out £105.00 this week.
