Gearing up for the Christmas holidays.....

It's getting close to Christmas holidays again and with the long range forecast looking quite good it must be a good time to dig out the fishing gear once again or if you are lucky try out any new stuff you may have got. We are setting aside over 1200 fish for the next 3 weeks trading to give the catch rate a big boost with a mixture of rainbows from 3lb upto 16lb with a good number of 6 to 8lb fish thrown in the mix. Fishing tactics have started to be a bit more predictable with a more settle weather pattern we are currently having, try anything from buzzers to cats whiskers on floating lines with the dam wall being the best areas to fish. The lower lake patterns are now back open after a brief makeover so these are well worth a go, strike indicators with egg flies or white buzzers have worked very well from platform 2. Sinking lines are still producing the better fish with black snakes being the favorite choice when fished around 6 foot. Fish of the week goes to Mr Simon Holmes from Cleckheaton with good double caught on a intermediate line from the top lake.  Opening times for the fishery over the Christmas holidays will be 8am to 4.30pm booking is advised, the only days we are CLOSED are the following Christmas Eve, Day and Boxing day, New Years eve and New years day please ring the office if you are not sure. Finally can I say a big thankyou to the guys at Trout Fisherman for our recent feature in the magazine.
