The fish continue to feed high up........

Although the weather has been mixed at times the fish are still happy feeding high up in the water column, with buzzers being high up on the trouts diet. Generally fishermen have not had to fish any deeper than 5 foot to be strike zone, so floating lines have been working well as long as you fish them with a decent length of leader line (around 12 foot) Best flies are buzzers, cdc's, dry hoppers and elk hair sedges. Meanwhile on intermediate lines for the first time ever I'm going to tell you not to count the line down, because as the fish are very high up I think any delay in your retrieve and you will pass through the fish. On your intermediate try a skinny damsel, black cats whisker or a white snake/rabbit. Fish of the week goes to Dumbarton angler Mr Duncan McCallum with a fine double, he also returned another 20 fish all to snakes. Other notable catches were Mr Lawson Bedford with a weekend haul of 34 fish to buzzers and damsels, Mr Duncan McCallum (on another day) with 41 fish to rabbits and snakes and finally Mr Paul Allen with 12 fish, best at 14lb to hopper's.
