Double bonanza at Pennine.......

Eight doubles out in 4 days, five of which where returned to fight another day. Although the ice has been a pest thankfully it's all gone as from this morning and the lakes are both totally clear, but clearly it's not affected the fishing has the above headline reads. Tactics have been indifferent as lots of methods have seemed to find fish although the bloodworm has accounted for most of the doubles, the stockies have seemed to be more on cats whiskers and black and green fritzs. The bay area is still "stuffed" with fish with Mr Terry Mann catching 24 fish including gold tags within 4 hours and his dad also netting 13 fish in a couple of hours. The lower lake has been pretty much unfished this week due to the ice so it's well worth a cast especially around the cages as they does seem plenty of fish moving around them. Fish of the week goes to Mr John Worthington from Runcorn with a nice double caught on a egg fly, he weighed off a 3 fish bag for 22lb !! Thanks for everyone who has liked the fisheries Facebook page, remember to like us to get regular updates on catches and currant conditions.
