Intermediate lines are for now the order of the day.......

After a week of 25 degrees the fish have pushed into the deeper water, generally around the 8 foot mark with the areas around the cages working well on both lakes. Conditions are meant to cool by mid week with the forecast of a bit of cloud by Thursday onwards which will be very welcome. Best flies continue to be damsels, black fritzs and white and green fritzs, the green and white has seemed to work better when temperatures have been cooler or there is a bit of cloud. The floating line men have found to tough going generally because of the lack of wind and the fact of not fishing deep enough, best tactics on a floater have been a sight indicator set at around 8 to 10 foot with weighted buzzers or egg flies. Fish of the week goes to Scottish angler Mr Duncan McCallum with a bright double caught on a olive spun rabbit, he also netted a tagged fish on his visit. Angler of the week goes to Mr Dave Manning with 31 fish from platform 4 all to buzzers and boobies, within his catch he had 3 doubles weighing 16lb, 13lb and 10lb and also a couple of blue trout and brown trout.
