With the unseasonal high temperatures buzzers and bloodworms have started to dominate the best catches.....

Buzzers fished on floating lines with 12 foot plus (flurocarbon) leaders have found good bags of fish in the windy corners. Whilst intermediate lines with the "snake fly" ( a long zonker pattern with a spilt hook and a foil teaser at the hook end) as been producing some outrageous catches in the bay area on the top lake. The fish on the lower lake have started to move away from the cages following the fly life to whichever way the breeze blows. Best fish of the week goes to Mr Maurice Wrennall from Clayton le woods with the first 20 pounder of the season, Maurice caught the fish weighing in at 20lb 6oz on a olive fritz fished from a sinking line. Other notable catches were Mr John metcalf from Widnes with 18 fish in 4 hours with a 2 fish bag of 17lb 8oz. Fish averages this week have worked out at a average 4lb 7oz with the average catch at 8 fish per angler. The tag fish has paid out on 5 tags with a total cash prize of £130.00.
