Late January Report 2012

Posted on 1/30/2012 by SuperUser Account

Very mild weather conditions have resulted in some good catch rates for anglers braving the westerly winds, with fish up to the 20lb mark being caught. Young Daniel Grant (pictured left) with his first double of the season caught on a egg fly fished on the lower lake near the cages, daniel fishing with his dad also returned a further 43 fish.

Top fly patterns have been white egg flies and buzzers on a floating lines and zonkers and white dancers on intermediate lines. Fish have generally been in the 3 to 6 foot mark with the current hot spots being in the bay area on the top lake and around the cages on the lower lake. Fish averages over the holiday period have been 11 fish per angler with a 3 fish bag limit weighing out at 13lb 9oz. The tag fish competition has paid out £165.00 over the last 8 days to 8 lucky winners. Please remember here at Pennine we continue to stock throughout the winter period with cracking fish, so if you are planning a value for money day out fishing we are your best bet throughout the northwest of England.
